John Gallagher Joins Staff
Stokes Nature Center is pleased to announce that John Gallagher has joined the staff as the Director of Education. John comes to SNC with over 12 years of varied nature education experience including a professional residency program in environmental education at the Teton Science Schools.
He is most recently from Indiana where he was the Interpretive Naturalist for the Indiana State Parks. Prior to that he was an Exhibit Director at Explorit Science Center in Davis, CA and spent weekends guiding students of UC Davis Outdoor Adventure programs on backpacking trips. He has a BA in Natural History from Prescott College, Prescott AZ. In his free time, John enjoys hiking, backpacking, skiing and watching hockey, but mostly he enjoys spending time with his wife Maria and children Quetzal and Caliope.
John’s responsibilities include design, development and implementation of all education programs along with the training and supervision of all teaching staff. He will help SNC to carry out its mission, to provide opportunities for students of all ages to explore, learn about, and develop appreciation and stewardship for our natural world.
